The GS1 Canada Trust Center is where our subscribers, prospective customers, and third-party risk reviewers can find out how we protect the data and services that Canadian businesses rely on every day — from product identification and barcoding to the supply chain data that keeps goods moving and shelves stocked.

As the national administrator of GS1 standards in Canada, we hold a position of trust across thousands of organizations, and we take the security of that role seriously. This page covers our approach to security, privacy, compliance, operational resilience, and the safeguards behind our identifier and data services. Additional supporting documentation is available on request through controlled disclosure.

Security isn't bolted on — it's built into how we run our systems and operate as an organization, from documented governance and secure development practices to continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and cloud security controls. We review and adjust our program regularly as our technology, the threat landscape, and our members' expectations evolve.

Our security posture is backed by independent, third-party validation. We maintain SOC 2 Type II compliance, adhere to PCI DSS for the payment data we handle, and align our risk management program to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework — giving our members and customers a clear, verifiable basis for trusting us with their data.
